THE BRIEF
Kreta Ayer Community Club
2014
T- House is an interior architectural project engaged by People's Association (PA) to propose a new use to a selcted area of the community club. The challenge is to provoke inquiry into the cultural, societal, architectural and environmental issues surrounding the design. The design must include elements which showcases and tells a "story". It must also showcase potential elements which reponses to sustainability.
THE CONCEPT
The concept behind the T - House is inspired from the process of making tea. In the tea making process, the fragrance of the tea was the most prominent feature, thus I wanted to educate the residents on the importance of the different fragrance. The other spaces are all centered around the smell exhibit.
The reason why bamboos were chosen for the exterior facade of the smell exhibition is because bamboos can have sustainable features. I have design the bamboos in such a way that has gaps and it allows the fragrance to diffuse to the surrounding area of ths shops.
